Martin Rushent 1948 - 2011

POSTED Jun 7, 2011

Influential record producer Martin Rushent has died at the age of 63.

Rushent was known for working with acts such as The Human League, The Stranglers, The Buzzcocks and XTC.

He began his career as a studio engineer in the 1970s, working on albums by acts including Fleetwood Mac and T. Rex.

Rushent's son James, guitarist with the band Does It Offend You, Yeah? said: "I will miss him so, so much, he was my best mate.", while statement from the band reads: "Martin Rushent was not just James's dad, but also someone very involved with the shaping of DIOYY and countless other musicians he worked with. He had an amazing character and was a great friend to all of us. Rest in peace, sitting at your mixing desk in the sky."
