Personal symphonies

POSTED Feb 25, 2013

Fancy listening to some tailor-made mood music?

Scientists at Plymouth University in the UK are developing a music system which can analyse a person’s brain activity when they listen to sounds and then compose new music specifically designed to make them happy.

The first public demonstration of the system features a reworking of Beethoven's 7th symphony based on the MRI feedback from three volunteers: a classical ballerina, a Gulf War veteran and research leader Dr Eduardo Miranda, who’s already offered a sneak peek at his own re-composition, which you can hear via our website.

What's it like? well... let's just say it's ok, as long as it makes HIM happy...
