Rolling Stones earn a mint

POSTED Jan 18, 2013

The Rolling Stones managed to sell over $36 million worth of tickets for their recent five show run.

The rock legends played sold out venues for their '50 and Counting' shows in London, Brooklyn and New Jersey selling 364,864 tickets altogether.

The shows were criticised for their high ticket prices with the cost ranging from £90 to a £950 deluxe VIP package.

The tour sees the band personally pocket around $24 million and Mick Jagger defended the price saying the shows were “expensive to put on”, though Keith Richards added "I just wanna do some shows and I don't want to charge over the bloody top."
